How to Join the Purpletastic Scoresby Striders |

1) From 2012, you HAVE TO FIRST Register online:
- Register ONLINE - LAVic Registration HAVE TO DO THIS ONLINE!
- Select RENEW or JOIN
- Follow instructions... selecting "Knox Little Aths Centre" if you are new.
- Please bring Printed Receipt to the track
- Please bring Birth Certificate, Passport, or Health Care book - for first time athletes.
2) Contact anyone on the committee.
3) Email us.
4) Come along on any competition day and talk to us.
Season fees cover you for both summer (track & field) and winter (cross country) seasons.
You will need to provide proof of age when you join for the first time so that you can be graded into the correct age group. Please bring along your birth certificate, passport, etc. when registering for your first season. See below to find which age group you will be in. Under 6's only compete in Cross Country during the off season over Winter.

It is best to try things out for a week or 2 to see if your kids (and you) want to commit for a full season. Once your payments go through to the VLAA and the Knox centre it's impossible to give refunds for their components as they dont refund them to us.
Fees for 2016/17 :

This fee also includes our most excellent hand engraved bronze (for 10 PB's), silver (for 20 PB's) & gold (for 30 PB's) medals for reaching the club personal best targets.
| Club short sleeve competition shirts are $35 each and not included in the above fees. Shirts generally last several years. You will also need to provide your own black shorts. Shorts must be plain black with no logos or coloured stitching. Caps are also available for $10. |  |

Specialist equipment is sometimes recommended (like spikes for the older kids) but go easy in your first year as it often takes a year of competition to learn the varying skills required to compete well in all the events. More technical events like the throws and jumps will certainly take a while to get right. Discounts are available at various stores and specialist suppliers if you ask around. You will find that most sports stores don't actually sell shot puts, discuses, javelins, hammers, etc. nor specialist footwear (throws shoes for example). Speak to any of the specialist coaches for expert advice before you go and buy anything.
Discounts are available if you join from February or only compete in the winter season to do cross country. Ask our committee for further details.
